The BET "Tribute" was not bad...the man died Thursday.
You prepare for a show for a year, ask all these artists to show, you can't expect them all to do MJ...that's not fair. The fact that they got NE to come out and do a medley, and certain other artists to sing a Mike song or two is pretty decent.
Let's also remember, you can't just perform a whole Mike catalog without permission. You gotta give negroes a lil credit.
I was mad at Bey initially for her performance, but I can't expect someone who's touring to break out and do MJ songs. Plus maybe she was tired of the booty shaking shit...she can't win...

I dont think anybody expected everybody to be singing MJ songs, and frankly, I dont have a problem with the tribute choices they made - except Ciara, but I digress. Ne-yo was a GREAT choice for that song he did.
Its the REST of the show - the already set in the program shit - that was wack. Honestly, I do feel like it got better midway, but the damn production people seem like they all got their degrees out a cereal box.
I was a little surprised to not see Usher anywhere in sight though, like not even in the audience. Nigga Joe Jackson showed up, where YOU at? LOL

In retrospect, I just really hated Keri's performance, Ciara singing (well, she tried) and the hosting skills was mad suspect in the first half of the show. I love Jamie but that nigga was all over the place. That + sucky production and lunchin censor guy = Dig was not a happy camper.
But, again, it did get better, and I was diggin the throwback R&B guys. I almost passed out when I saw Tevin Campbell.
Trey, Tyrese and JG were easily the best of the night, IMO.
